Dual Layer means more storage... Verbatim means better quality!Dual layer storage offers 8.4 GB on each disk (the same as most commercial pre-recorded DVDs), almost twice as much as the 4.7 GB single-layer DVDs that people normally buy. They've traditionally been expensive, but their price has fallen quite a lot in the past few months and they're now a viable option. And now you can afford to buy Verbatim Dual Layer discs. It's no surprise that along with Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim are generally considered to be the manufacturer of the most reliable media in the world. They're not the cheapest discs we sell, but at our prices they're hardly going to break the bank either. We believe that if you're truly looking for a disc with long-term reliability, very high compatibility and exacting quality control, Verbatim are one of the leading choices. They're especially recommended if for archival purposes. (We also recommend the Taiyos for this, but they're definitely more expensive). Please ensure your burner supports DVD+R DL media. (Most drives sold in the past couple of years will be fine.) If it has the "double-rectangle" DVD+R DL logo (click here to view), it will definitely be fine. If in doubt, please check the manualAlthough we always recommend that you keep your burner's firmware up-to-date, we especially recommend that you do this if you intend using dual layer media, regardless of the brand.
