Taiyo Yuden is almost universally considered to be the most reliable brand of CDs and DVDs on the market. The company played a major part in the development of CD-R discs, and were the first to present a recordable CD to the public.
Some TY-manufactured discs have been sold by other brands under their own name, however these don't always undergo the same strict quality control standards of TY's own brand.
