Mitsubishi is one of those massive Japanese companies that do an incredible amount of different stuff and have been around for a very long time. They've got a particularly good reputation in the electronics industry, and these rewritable DVD discs reflect that.
They can be rewritten over 1000 times, and when used in conjunction with packet-writing software (such as InCD which is bundled with Nero), they can be treated very much like ordinary floppy discs, but with a much larger capacity. Even used as ordinary DVDs, they can be wiped, rewritten, wiped, rewritten and reused time and time again.
