It's worth remembering that although genuine TY have never been cheap, they're almost universally considered the most reliable manufacturer of CD-Rs (their only real rival being Verbatim), and as the inventors of the first publicly-displayed CD-R, they ought to be too!
Some TY-manufactured discs have been sold under various names by other brands, but these don't always meet the quality control standards of TY's own make.
